Appointment and Diagnosis Process

Treatment Discussion
After establishing a diagnosis, Richard will outline the recommended treatment plan. This could involve surgery or, alternatively, management with medication and guidance. If surgery is necessary, Richard will explain the surgical procedure, the steps involved, and the anticipated outcomes during this discussion.

How much will my surgery cost?
Richard and his team can provide a price range for your chosen surgery. This depends on the type of procedure and anaesthesia, which hospital and how long you want to stay in hospital. At your initial consultation, we will give you a quote, in detail, for your chosen procedure. This will include a surgeon’s fee, anaesthetist fee, imaging fees and the hospital fees.
What do I bring to appointment?
We will have your referral letter and information. Please bring your list of medications and allergies. You may wish to bring a support person and a note pad.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out registration forms.
Should I do anything before a procedure?
After most local anaesthetic procedures you can drive, however you may wish to have a driver. Please take two paracetamol 1 hour before any procedure to help with the injections.
What can I expect at my initial consultation?
